fREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. WHAT DOES A TYPICAL THERAPY SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Each session is approximately 50 minutes long and centers on the client's desires and goals for therapy. I let you decide where we go. For adults, that typically means conversation and working through issues. For children, a time of guided play provides support. Regardless of age, you will be given a choice every session of which room you would like to enter: the traditional office with comfortable furniture and the feel of a living room, or a creative space filled with musical instruments, art supplies, a sandtray, games, and other tools that help express the deepest of emotions and experiences.
  2. HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET?
I typically work on a weekly schedule with clients. Together, we'll decide on a consistent time that is right for you. As treatment comes to a close, our sessions may move to biweekly appointments to allow for gradual closure.
  3. WHAT IS YOUR FEE?
Sessions are $155. Payment may be made with cash, check, or credit card. 24-hour cancellation policy: full fee will be charged for no-shows and appointments cancelled with less than 24-hours notice. I do not take insurance, but I do provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company.
  4. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE?
Come in through the front door and wait in the reception area. I will meet you at the time of your appointment and bring you into the main office. Once inside, you will have the choice of meeting with me in a traditional office or working together in the creative arts room. At the end of our session, you will exit out a side door -- your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance. Children will be brought back to meet their parents in the reception area.
  5. DO YOU OFFER TELEHEALTH? Yes. Telehealth is an option at times when clients can't make it in person, such as illness, travel, or unexpected circumstances. Telehealth is also available for those who do not live close to Fresno but still reside in California.

  6. HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Give me a call or send me a message on the contact page. I'll respond and we can have a short phone conversation. If you feel like we are a good fit and I have openings that match your schedule, we'll book an appointment and I'll send you some electronic paperwork to sign. If I don't have any openings, I'll be glad to put you on my waitlist.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
